Afghanistan's Deputy Minister of Food and Medicine, Mawlawi Hamdullah Zahid, has held talks with senior Uzbek health officials during an official visit to Uzbekistan aimed at expanding bilateral cooperation in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and medical products.
According to Afghanistan's Ministry of Public Health, Zahid met separately with Ilhamjon Umarzakov, Deputy Minister of Health of Uzbekistan, and Abdulla Azizov, Head of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry and Medical Equipment.
The discussions covered professional knowledge exchange, medical treatment for Afghan patients—particularly those suffering from cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and other specialized illnesses—development of the pharmaceutical industry, strengthening quality control laboratories, and cooperation in laboratory equipment.
Both sides also emphasized expanding technical cooperation and strengthening partnerships to improve healthcare services and pharmaceutical production.
Uzbek officials expressed their country's readiness to broaden cooperation in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and medical products, reaffirming their commitment to continued joint collaboration.
